In sunny South Florida, the weather's nearly always clear – and The People's awareness is mostly cloudy. How many times have you tried to mobilize South Floridians for a good cause? How many times have you been disappointed by the results?
Yeah, same here. But some of the blame rests with us, the activist community. Whatever your cause, the sad truth is, we don't support each other enough. Then again, how are we supposed to keep track of who's protesting for (or against) what?
This blog aims to. We'll also meet on Saturday, Sept. 26, to share specific ideas for successful activism – whether you're into the environment, human rights, politics, economics, or (of course) The War.
At dinnertime, we'll recognize the activists who have made the most of 2008. Afterwards, we host an acoustic heavy-metal anti-war concert. Stay tuned for details. Questions now? Email us.
